1847 Maison Cartier was founded by Louis-François Cartier, who inherited the atelier of his master Adolphe Picard, located at 29 Avenue Montorgueil in Paris.
1898 Louis Cartier, the founder's grandson, joins the management.
1904 Cartier was first recognized as an official Royal Warrant by King Edward VII. After that, it was certified as a purveyor to royal families such as Spain, Thailand, and Russia.
1911 The first Santos equipped with a "deployant buckle" was born.
1917 The tank watch is born.
1925 Cartier exhibited at the International Exhibition of Contemporary Decorative and Industrial Art (commonly known as the Art Deco Exhibition) held in Paris. This event gave rise to the name Art Deco, a style that was at its peak at the time.

1978 The birth of the Santos de Cartier watch, which combines gold and steel for the first time on its bracelet.

1985 Pasha de Cartier is born.
1989 The first major retrospective exhibition "L'Art de Cartier" introducing items from the "Cartier Collection" will be held at the Petit Palais Museum in Paris.
1997 As part of the Maison's 150th anniversary celebrations, a major Cartier retrospective was held at the British Museum in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
2001 The Cartier Manufacture was established as a manufacturing base.
2003 Adopted the Kimberley Process, which aims to eliminate diamond trade originating from conflict areas.
Year 2005 Participated in the establishment of the Responsible Jewelery Council.
2007 Introducing Ballon Blue, which means "blue balloon".
2010 The Caliber de Cartier, equipped with an in-house movement, is born.
