Omega terminology
sedona gold
Pink gold is a mixture of pure gold, copper, and palladium. It was named after Sedna, the reddest asteroid in the solar system. Rolex's Everose gold is made of 75% gold with platinum added to it, while Omega's Sedna gold is made with palladium to maintain its beautiful shine. This material was introduced in the Constellation in 2013, and was later incorporated into a wide range of Omega's popular models, including the Speedmaster and Seamaster. In addition, in 2019, Omega succeeded in developing Moonshine Gold, a unique yellow gold that resists fading over time, and Omega's pursuit of material development shows no signs of stopping.
co-axial
The word "Co-Axial" is attached to many Omega model names. This means that the movement uses a Co-Axial escapement. In 1999, Omega first announced a groundbreaking escapement that was completely different from the previous Swiss lever type, and in 2014 they announced the Master Co-Axial, which evolved the escapement and balance spring into non-magnetic materials. did. The Co-Axial escapement was originally invented in 1974 by watchmaker Dr. George Daniels, and it took 25 years for Omega to successfully mass-produce it, achieving high precision and reducing the overhaul span required for mechanical watches. We were able to double the size. In terms of magnetic resistance, Master Co-Axial, which can withstand magnetic forces of 15,000 Gauss, reigns supreme as an unrivaled product.
