[Divers Officine Panerai for the Italian Navy] A diver's watch "Radiomir" developed for the Italian military in 1936. Its high waterproofing technology was granted by Rolex and got its name from Radium, which was used as a luminous paint. The crown cover, which came later on, is one of the features of the current Panerai, further enhancing the waterproofing technology.

It is a self-winding movement developed in-house, equipped with a caliber "P.4001" employing a micro rotor made of tungsten alloy. The dial has a Clou de Paris pattern, laid out with small pyramid-shaped motifs. The case design of Radiomeal 1940 is similar to Radiomeal and is different. The major difference is the shape of the lugs and crown. Instead of the wire loop type used in Radiomir, a thick lug like Luminor is used. The crown has been changed from a cone to a cylinder and features a design like a combination of radiomeal and luminol.
